Do you want  to learn how to speak Japanese fluently?  If you want to learn this language properly then there are certain things to consider.  If you are still new to this language then it may seem tough to you, but once you start to learn it you will find that it is actually a simple language to learn, as long as you have the right resources.

A few options that work:

Japanese learning classes: If you live in a country other than Japan then a good way to learn how to speak Japanese is to attend classes.  Here, you will be taught to speak correctly by using proper pronunciation and you will also learn the correct grammatical structure.  However, you should know that attending class once each week will not be enough to help you learn how to speak Japanese if you do not have a means of practicing daily.  To master this language, you will have to use it on a regular basis.

Japanese Language Software: If attending classes is too cost prohibitive for you, if your schedule isn’t flexible enough to attend classes, or if you live in an area where classes are not available, then you can always get a computer software program to learn the language.   Several programs are available that are relatively inexpensive, especially compared to college classes or private tutoring, and they not only help you learn how to speak Japanese, but to write it, to understand the spoken language, and they even teach you about the Japanese culture.  Rocket Japanese is our favorite program, as it teaches you all of those things, and does it through audio lessons, games, and videos, so it keeps learning fun.  Plus they have a learners forum for you to converse with other students, and as part of the package you have access to Japanese teachers to answer any questions you may have.

Private Tutoring: This is another excellent approach, as it’s hard to beat one-on-one learning.  However, you will need to take lessons frequently, as just once a week will not be enough to learn how to speak Japanese well.  Since tutoring averages $40 per hour or more, this approach can get quite costly.

No matter which method you use, be sure to use the language on a regular basis.  It is important for you to be aware that until and unless you speak the language on a regular basis, it will not be possible for you to learn how to speak Japanese.  No matter how many books you read or how much grammar you study, you will not be able to be good at this language if you do not use it.  That is why we feel that Japanese language software programs are so valuable.  You are able to easily practice any time of the day or night, and not only once each week while you are at class.
